On 6 February, the White Paper Taskforce travelled to Melbourne to engage Australian business, university, NGO, sports and cultural sectors on challenges and opportunities for Australia's international engagement in the decade to come.
The group brought together a diverse range of international expertise and experience. Individuals identified the important contribution sports and culture can play in promoting Australia overseas, the need for Australia to maintain a free and open economy, and the importance of explaining the benefits of Australia's international engagement to the community.
Victoria was the Taskforce's second stop in a series of nation-wide consultations to ensure the White Paper is based on the best possible advice and harnesses the wide range of views, interests and talents in the Australian community.
